Surprise Door County Engagement

As you might guess from the title of this post, Ryan and Haley had a pretty amazing weekend in Door County. 

But before we get into that, let's back up a bit. Haley is the Lead Event Host for the Botanical Gardens in Green Bay and arguably puts together amazing weddings and surprise proposals literally every day. Her boyfriend Ryan works in an architecture firm and has been putting a lot of hours lately, but he had also been working on something else... planning an epic proposal in Door County (without Haley knowing)! 

While checking out Cave Point, one of Door County's amazing natural wonders, Ryan dropped down on one knee and popped the BIG question! Fresh snow had just fallen late in the week, the waves were crashing and it was an amazingly beautiful moment.

Door County's Best Engagement Photos of 2015

This year has been an amazing year full of the newly engaged looking to get the perfect photo showing their love of Door County and each other, surprise engagements where the natural beauty of the area drew the soon to be bride-to-be down to the water and the perfect proposal, and spectacular moments of love captured throughout Door County at the area's favorite locations.

Ruth & Brion - Door County Engagement Portraits

From Sturgeon Bay to Ephraim, Door County locals Ruth & Brion wanted to capture the best of the county including the many cairns found at Cave Point this year. They also had a little fun showing off their style at Anderson Dock and found an amazing sunset with the waves rolling in on the bay side of the peninsula.

Adam & Jessica - Door County Surprise Engagement Portraits

Adam called to set up a surprise engagement session. He was visiting Door County with is girlfriend, Jessica, along with some friends and had planned a stop at Cave Point on the way to a fabulous dinner in Baileys Harbor. Once Jessica was out along the shoreline, Adam dropped to one knee and surprised her with THE question. She said yes! And the friends who watched from a bit further back, all popped champagne corks and the group celebrated.

Steve & Andi - Door County Engagement Portraits

Andi's family has made a lot of memories in Door County, having a home in Ephraim. And wanting a get-away from student life studying for their PHDs, they chose Door County as a get-away and backdrop for their engagement photos.

Brittany & Tyler | Door County Engagement Photographer

It was a crisp winter day when we went to shoot Brittany and Tyler's Door County engagement session. We had to reschedule twice because of the weather, but finally we got a perfect day. Both from Door County, they were looking for something different, and Brittany wanted a snowy scene for their engagement pictures. We wrapped up after a few looks outside and headed into the studio for a few headshots.
